Opening night came for the Achaean Boys’ Soccer Team on Tuesday evening at Kuntz Stadium. We can all exhale and have some fun now. A couple miscues in the first half by Herron led to a deficit of 0-2 at halftime. Herron’s defense held strong in the second half while the offense was able to get several scoring chances. Freshman Daniel Lynch was taken down at the edge of the box which led to a chance from the mark. Fellow Freshman, Noah Gentry, took the penalty kick that was deflected by Decatur’s keeper. Gentry was first to the rebound but sailed bouncing ball over the goal. The Achaeans took the “L” tonight 0-2 but will look to bounce back against Greenfield Central on Thursday on the road.
